Small Story , Big Wisdom

John DeLorean told me that shortly after he had become general manager of Chevrolet he attended a sales conference in Dallas, and when he arrived at his hotel suite he discovered that someone from the company had delivered a huge basket of fruit to his room. Remarking to an associate on the basket’s size and variety he commented, humorously, he thought, “What? No bananas?”
From that moment on, the word throughout General Motors was “John DeLorean loves bananas.”

No matter how many times he attempted to explain that he had only meant to be amusing, bananas kept showing up in cars, chartered planes, hotel suites—even in meetings—and followed him throughout his career at Chevrolet.

Moral of the story: Be Careful What You Say When You’re the Leader

Before "The Secret" and the law of attraction popular became popular, there was "The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D. Wattles. I'll share with you the summary of this great work in 4 parts.

This is part 1 of 4:

THERE IS A THINKING STUFF FROM WHICH ALL THINGS ARE MADE, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe.

A thought in this substance produces the thing that is imaged by the thought.

A person can form things in his thought, and by impressing his thought upon formless substance can cause the thing he thinks about to be created.




It's meant to look a bit abstract at first glance. We can meditate on it as and when we're free. Then let the mind work it's wonders. :-)

Set Your Goals!!!

Greetings Polarians!

History has again turned its page and we're at the dawn of a new year again!


Have you set your goals for 2009? If you haven't yet, what will better time to do so than now? After all, if we live this year the same manner as we did in 2008, it's not probable that we see any breakthrough manifest in our lives is it?


I was flipping through "Chicken Soup For the Soul" the day before and something jumped right out at me. A very successful individual shared about the MOST important thing a person can do to live his dreams. Guess what it is? Set your goals!


Below is another extract from a passage by Napoleon Hill. You'll notice he's talking the same thing - setting goals! So while you enjoy the paragraph, you can also start writing down your new year resolutions for 2009. I believe 2009 is going to be the best year ever - if we start to make it so!


"Honesty and hard work are commendable traits of character, but they will never make a success of the person who does not guide them toward a definite major purpose.


Character is an important element of success and a critical attribute of leadership, but character alone cannot ensure success unless it is channeled in a positive direction. When good, decent people-persons of character-connect with a major purpose for their lives toward which they willingly and enthusiastically direct their energies, the results can be awe-inspiring. A major purpose and outstanding character are a formidable combination."
